Fanatics Sportsbook promoted Jay-Z’s $1 million NBA Finals wager on social media before Game 1 between the Pacers and Thunder.
Jay-Z wagered a million bucks on the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Indiana Pacers in exactly five games.
He is likely sweating bullets right now.

Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder isn’t a great NBA Finals investment right now, with the Thunder sitting as one of the biggest finals favorites of all time. OKC has +230 odds at Fanatics to win the NBA Finals in five, and the Empire State of Mind hitmaker put $1 million on the result for a potential $3.3 million payout.
The Pacers have proven everyone wrong so far by getting to this stage. Few outside Indiana predicted they would get past the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round, while the New York Knicks were the popular pick in the conference finals.
They further proved that they should be here after taking Game 1 on Thursday night.

For Jay-Z to win his bet, the Thunder need to win the next four games in a row. History isn’t on his side.
Teams that win Game 1 of the NBA Finals go on to win the series 70.5% of the time (55 of 88).
Pacers And Thunder Is Shaping Up To Be A Classic Series

Jay-Z wagered a million bucks on the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Indiana Pacers in exactly five games.
Unfortunately for Hov, the Pacers pulled off a historic Game 1 upset of the Thunder, beating them 111-110 on a last-second shot by Tyrese Haliburton.
Many people had OKC winning the series and doing so in five games or less.
After one game, they are still favored, but things have gotten tighter now because of that last-second shot.
The Thunder are -11 point favorites in Game 2 over the Pacers.
