Julius Randle is not parting ways with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 30-year-old declined his $30.9 million player option for 2025-26 to lock in a new contract.
Randle had a solid first year with the Minnesota Timberwolves after being traded from the New York Knicks in exchange for Karl Anthony Towns. He averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and shot 48.5%. Not only on court delivery, he also made strong connections with his teammates, Anthony Edwards, and Rudy Gobert, and helped the team finish with a top 10 offense.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the forward agreed to a three-year, $100 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The deal also includes a player option for the 2027-28 season.

“It’s really what has turned our season around; his playmaking, his decision-making, playing through on different spots on the floor,” Coach Chris Finch said of Randle. He played at a high level in the playoffs. However, He dominated over the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors with an average of 24 points and six assists per game over the first round. At the same time, he shot over 60% accurately.
