The New York Knicks had one of the best nights so far. Playing against the Detroit Pistons on the road, they picked up a crucial 118-116 victory. By virtue of this victory, the Knicks are now up 2-1 after Game 3. However, as the game was quite closely contested, things got pretty controversial at the fag end of the game. With a mistake on the timekeeper’s end, the Knicks almost had the game slip out of their hand.
With just 0.5 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Jalen Brunson missed a second free throw to run down the clock. However, as soon as the ball hit the rim, the clock began to tick. According to the rules, the clock will only resume when a player touches it. Thus, with all the fiasco going on, the Pistons ended up getting a free timeout.
Quite expectedly, the Knicks were not happy and Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson made it quite evident.
“10 years I ain’t never seen that. They gave ’em a chance. I got nothing but respect for that,” said Anthony Towns in the presser. Replying to KAT cheekily, Brunson stated, “They need a raise for that. Smart on their part”

Thankfully, the Pistons gave away possession, resulting in the Knicks picking up the victory. Meanwhile, dominating proceedings in the NBA this year, Towns had his rivals shower him with appreciation.

Green is a pretty tough nut to crack when it comes to tackling his opponents. Thus, when the Warriors’ star shows his admiration for KAT, it proves that the Knicks’ star surely has potential. During a heated altercation with KAT in a regular season game this year, Green mocked KAT by calling him ‘soft.’ However, he also gave Anthony Towns his flowers later.
“Good to see KAT show up and play like that. He played hard, played well. And he was physical, probably most physical I’ve ever seen him. He had a little extra motivation, so that made the game really fun. That was great,” Green said.

Draymond Green to Karl-Anthony Towns
Really not sure what KAT has done to earn this disrespect, the OVERWHELMING consensus from this story has been that KAT has handled it with class while Draymond’s been a bully pic.twitter.com/nuUN3mGAtd
Thus, with Karl-Anthony Towns guiding the Knicks, it remains to be seen what happens next.
