NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins recently claimed that the “Los Angeles Lakers are saving the NBA” amid viewership decline. However, his soon-to-be colleague and NBA Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley, holds a different perspective and called the 2008 NBA champion “fool, idiot” on live television. Following Barkley’s comment, Perkins threw warning shots at the 62-year-old.
On Wednesday, Perkins said, “Right now, the Los Angeles Lakers are saving the NBA.” The former NBA star’s comment came after the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade to the Lakers. “When you have Showtime back in LA, now all of the sudden excitement, the energy, and everything else is back towards the NBA,” he added.
Barkley opposed his view and directly called Perkins a fool and idiot. “I saw a fool, idiot on TV saying the Lakers saved the NBA. He’s an idiot and a fool, but he knows who he is… Kendrick Perkins,” Barkley said. Perkins didn’t hold back, taking to X to fire shots at the NBA on TNT and Barkley.
Hey @NBAonTNT might wanna tell that senior citizen Charles Barkley that I’ll be around. When he see an idiot or fool in person make sure he keep that same energy. He can come playing with me if he want to and imma Address his ass like the numbers on a house. Straight from the 409…

Shaquille O’Neal And Charles Barkley Once Called Kendrick Perkins A “Roach”

This is not the first time the two former players-turned-analysts have clashed. Last April, Perkins feuded with the ‘Inside the NBA’ crew. Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal called the ESPN analyst a “roach” and brought a punching bag with Perkins’ face on it.

Reacting to Barkley and O’Neal’s comments, Perkins wrote on X, “Hey @NBAonTNT tell Chuck he ain’t ready to get his feet hot with me.”
Charles Barkley and Kendrick Perkins will become ESPN colleagues soon. However, Chuck seemed not interested in making friends with his future coworkers as the feud continued between the two analysts.
