The excitement is building for Flagg’s debut game with the Mavericks, where he will face the Los Angeles Lakers and Bronny James. Kevin Garnett, who recently posted on Instagram about the upcoming James vs. Flagg matchup in Las Vegas, has further fueled the hype.

James played 27 games during his first season, averaging 6.7 minutes, 2.3 points, and 0.7 rebounds per game. In contrast, during the 2024-25 NCAA season, Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 4.2 assists, and 7.5 rebounds over 37 games.

“I want to put him at point guard. I want to make him uncomfortable and see how he reacts being able to run the show. Being able to play the 2, play the 3, he’s comfortable playing that. But we want to push, and I think he’s going to respond in a positive way. It’s all right to fail, it’s all right to turn the ball over. We’ve talked about that… I’m excited to give him the ball against the Lakers and see what happens,” Kidd said during a recent press conference.
