Donte DiVincenzo’s journey with the New York Knicks was brief. After joining the team in 2024 following a one-year stint with the Golden State Warriors, he quickly became a key piece alongside former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges.
Their chemistry, built during their college days, made them a fan-favorite unit, often referred to as the “Nova Knicks.” However, DiVincenzo’s time in New York came to an end when the Knicks traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a three-team deal.
Now, Brunson, Hart, and Bridges remain with the Knicks while DiVincenzo continues his career in Minnesota. Knicks fans can only watch him compete against his former teammates. But in a surprising twist, the March Madness ad for AT&T provided an unexpected reunion.
The commercial features DiVincenzo walking through a tunnel when he suddenly encounters Brunson, Hart, and Bridges. After a brief moment of nostalgia, DiVincenzo starts walking away.

At that moment, Brunson calls out to him and tosses a cap, saying, “Hey Donte, catch. A connection means something.” DiVincenzo catches the cap with a smile.

During his lone season in New York, DiVincenzo had the best statistical year of his career. He averaged 15.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game across 81 contests.
His strong performances made him a valuable asset, but the Knicks made a bold move by including him in the deal that brought Karl-Anthony Towns to New York. Along with DiVincenzo, the team also traded Julius Randle to the Timberwolves.
