Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks were on a historic run this season as they went on to chase their championship dream.
The Knicks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. However, their dream was cut short by the Indiana Pacers.
However, things have been a bit rocky since they parted ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau after their exit. The search for his replacement is underway, and former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown is reportedly in the lead for the position.
At the center of all this, Marc Stein reported that Rick Brunson, Jalen Brunson’s father, will continue his role as a member of the coaching staff for the Knicks. Jalen couldn’t help but share his surprise (and excitement) on social media after learning about the news.

Rick has been part of the Knicks’ coaching team since 2022, which coincides with Jalen joining the squad. While it’s great to see Rick remain involved, the Knicks still have an important decision to make regarding their next head coach.

Knicks Making Major Roster Shift While Searching For Next Head Coach
The front office is busy evaluating coaching candidates, with Mike Brown leading the charge after a solid second interview. Taylor Jenkins is also gaining traction as a viable choice.
Both coaches could bring a new flavor to the Knicks, moving away from the rigid system that players have found frustrating, especially the younger ones.
On the roster front, the Knicks have made some strategic moves to enhance their chances.
The Knicks have brought in Jordan Clarkson after his buyout from the Jazz, and Guerschon Yabusele will be joining the camp soon. Yabusele’s signing comes as a two-year, $12 million deal that will add versatility and shooting potential in the frontcourt.
