On March 1, 2003, the Akron Police Department issued the ticket to James while he was driving his Hummer H2. The vehicle was missing a rear license plate, and instead of being properly secured, the temporary tag was awkwardly resting on the front dashboard.
Although there was a bracket for the rear license plate, it was never installed, which led to this unexpected encounter. Interestingly, James even signed the ticket in black ink in the top right corner.
