LeBron James has always been a topic of debate. Be it him playing in the NBA at 40. Or James being pitted against Michael Jordan for the GOAT debate. Now, adding to the controversy is a recent take from James on the NBA’s ‘ring culture.’ The Los Angeles Lakers’ star stated that only those who have won NBA rings are valued highly in the NBA. On the flip side, others who were equally good but didn’t have a ring to show off remained out of the discussion. And that mindset did not sit well with Craig Carton.
In a recent episode of ‘Breakfast Ball,’ Craig Carton reflected on the topic of ring culture. Carton opined that Michael Jordan is undoubtedly the GOAT of the NBA. And this is something that James always has in his head. Carton also alleged that the thought always lingers with him, and thus, ‘King James’ is pretty much insecure.
“He’s an insufferable narcissist. Great player. For my money, a top 10 player of all time, for sure. You can debate where you want to put him. He’s not number one. But it’s so clear to me, I can’t prove this, it’s just my take on it, of how Michael Jordan lives rent-free in his head,” said Carton.

Surely, this is yet another chapter added to the GOAT debate. At the same time, Jordan has more rings than James. The Lakers’ star dominates in overall stats. Meanwhile, speaking about the dropping NBA ratings, James recently blasted the media for their inability.
LeBron James Holds The NBA Media Accountable

The NBA ratings are going down. And with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers in the final, the media have further cited difficulty in selling the finals. However, in a recent episode of the ‘Mind the Game’ podcast, Steve Nash discussed the same with LeBron James. And the Lakers’ star stated that it was the lack of accountability from the media that was hampering them from selling the finals properly.

”We all have a story. And there is a lot of stories that could be told on the OKC roster and on the Pacers roster,” James said. “It’s like, do the guys that preach our game, do they want to do the homework and take the time out to actually tell these stories? And it doesn’t seem way. It’s just, ‘what can I say without truth or without knowledge’ or ‘this is what I want to say’ and there’s no accountability behind it,” said James.
Thus, with things getting quite interesting, it remains to be seen what happens next.
