The Los Angeles Lakers continued their stellar run on Sunday with a 108-102 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. It marked their second win over their in-city rivals in just three days. With six consecutive wins and 16 victories in their last 19 games, the Lakers are now surging in the Western Conference standings.
This latest win brings their record to 38-21, moving them past the Denver Nuggets for the second seed in the West. The last time the Lakers were a top-two seed after 41 games was in 2020, the year they won the NBA Championship.
This loss adds to the Clippers’ recent struggles. They have now dropped five of their last six games. Their record is 32-28, placing them sixth in the Western Conference.
Luka Doncic Continues To Shine In The Los Angeles Lakers Jersey
Despite playing without Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, the Lakers found a way to prevail, thanks to Luka Doncic. The newly acquired star led the team with 29 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and five three-pointers.

Doncic also etched his name into Lakers history. With the performance, he became the second-fastest player to record 150 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists with the team. Only LeBron James reached this milestone quickly.
LeBron contributed 17 points, nine assists, and five rebounds in the win, while rookie Dalton Knecht provided a strong spark off the bench with 19 points. Jarred Vanderbilt added nine rebounds and eight points.

Kawhi Leonard did everything he could to keep the Clippers in the game. He delivered a season-high 33 points and 10 rebounds. However, James Harden struggled again, shooting 4-for-14 from the field after a 5-for-22 performance in his previous game. The Clippers also suffered a setback as Norman Powell exited early due to hamstring soreness.
