The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the playoffs on a high note.
Ever since they acquired Luka Doncic in a sensational trade with the Dallas Mavericks in February, the Lakers have had a great time.
LA finished the regular season with a commendable 50–32 record and earned the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. However, Lakers legend Magic Johnson has rung the alarm for their upcoming first-round matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In particular, Johnson named three of the top Wolves stars who could pose a threat to the team.
“I’m scared for my Lakers because the game’s most exciting player, superstar Anthony Edwards, is a matchup problem,” Johnson wrote.
Despite acknowledging Edwards’ potential as a “matchup problem,” Johnson remains confident in the Lakers’ abilities. He predicts that for the Timberwolves to succeed, players like Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo will need to perform exceptionally well.
“If the Timberwolves beat my Lakers, it’s because Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo both have a big series. I’m picking my Lakers in 6, led by superstars LeBron James and Luka Doncic. Austin Reaves will be the third man in the ring for the Lakers, and he has to have a big series as well as Rui Hachimara. Rui has to come up big for the Lakers to win,” the legend further added.

Johnson has faith in his team, believing that they will prevail in six games.
This playoff season is particularly special for the Lakers as it will be Luka Doncic’s first playoff appearance with the team and is the first time since 2012 that they will host a first-round series.

Magic Johnson Shares His Plans For Lakers-Timberwolves Playoff Series
While the first-round NBA playoff series between the Timberwolves and the Lakers sounds promising, Magic Johnson has his plans set.
Recently, the Lakers legend tweeted about his excitement for the series. He promises to be glued to the TV throughout all three games.
“I will be glued to my TV during this year’s Playoffs and I’ll be at every Lakers vs. Timberwolves game watching three of the NBA’s most exciting players- LeBron James, Luca Doncic, and Anthony Edwards!” he tweeted.

However, the regular-season series between the two teams ended in a split, with both teams winning two games each. However, Luka Doncic holds an impressive 11-7 career record against the Timberwolves.
He has previously led the Dallas Mavericks to victory over them in the Western Conference Finals last year. This series will provide an exciting opportunity for both the Timberwolves and the Lakers.
The winner will advance to face the winning team from the Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets matchup in the second round of the playoffs.
