Even if the Dallas Mavericks do not have Luka Doncic at the helm, Mark Cuban thinks his minority-owned franchise has “the best Big 3 in the NBA.”
There has been a lot of noise around the Anthony Davis-Luka Doncic trade, but many think there’s still a silver lining for the Mavs.
Cuban recently showed up to The Stephen A. Smith Show and talked deliberately about how he thinks Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, and Daniel Gafford are the big three for the franchise.
During his chat with Stephen A., Cuban expressed his excitement about what this trio brings to the table. According to him, their mix of skills makes them a standout among the league’s big men.
“You know the truth is between [Anthony Davis], Dereck Lively, and [Daniel] Gafford, that’s the best Big 3 in the NBA,” Cuban said.

Despite the injury woes after his trade, Davis is still showing off his talents. The former Laker is averaging 25.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game this season.

With Davis missing a fair chunk of the season and Lively and Gafford battling their own injuries. While the analogy sounds fascinating, they need consistency and health to take ‘the Big 3’ dream to fruition.
The Mavericks shook the league when they made a deal for Doncic, and the whole fanbase lashed out at the franchise.

Mark Cuban’s Endorsement Looks Promising

After messing up with much of their fans’ sentiments, Dallas is looking at its potential next big names, as Mark Cuban said.
This exciting talk comes just as the team is finding its rhythm, thanks in large part to Davis’s return from an injury that kept him sidelined for a while. Since he’s been back, the Mavs have won four out of five games.
The return includes a thrilling close call against the Atlanta Hawks, where Davis dropped an impressive 34 points.

As it stands, the Mavericks are currently sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference and are eager to make a spot in the playoffs.
With a healthier roster and Davis rounding into form, the Mavericks could really be on the brink of something great. It’ll be exciting to see if they can live up to Cuban’s high hopes and keep this momentum going.
