The Miami Heat got a significant update on Terry Rozier.
The 31-year-old guard, Rozier, was accused of ongoing betting scandals. The concerns started in 2023 when Rozier was with the Charlotte Hornets. Even though the allegations are illegal, the matter remains under federal scrutiny.
NBA insider Shams Charania confirmed on The Pat McAfee Show that the league has cleared Rozier of any wrongdoing as of now. He also shared that league spokesman Mike Bass acknowledged the NBA is working with the federal investigators but found no rule violations by the point guard.

At 31, Rozier played 65 games for the Miami Heat last season. Despite his struggles last season, he averaged over 25 minutes a game and 10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He shot 39.1% from the field and 29.5% from three-point range.
Next season marks the final year of his $96 million, four-year contract. He brings a $26 million cap hit with that deal. As age and consistency remain doubtful, Miami could trade him to free up space.
Even though the league removes all the illegal charges against him, his future looks more uncertain with the Heat. The situation will continue to stretch with the ongoing investigations, with an unknown timeline.

Miami Heat Confirm Their First Trade Move

The Heat is on the move. After a disappointing season exit with 37-45, the franchise is going to depart its sharpshooter, Duncan Robinson. The big man agreed to a three-year, $48 million deal with the Detroit Pistons.
Robinson declined his $20 million option to join the Pistons. But the Pistons will send forward Simone Fontecchio to the Heat in exchange for the deal. Fontecchio averaged 5.9 points and shot 40.2% from the field last season. He is going to make $8.3 million in Miami.
As Robinson is leaving the franchise as an all-time leader in made threes after seven seasons, Miami will face a change. They must adopt the new presence to reshape their roster and chase a long playoff run.
