The Phoenix Suns are currently in the thick of trade talks involving Kevin Durant. But it seems they won’t be making a deal without listening to the Minnesota Timberwolves anytime soon.
Despite the earlier reports suggesting that Durant isn’t keen on the idea of joining the Timberwolves, the trade is still not out of the equation.
A recent report from Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro detailed a full trade package the Wolves would offer. It includes Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo, Rob Dillingham, Terrance Shannon Jr., and the 17th overall pick.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, even though Durant has his eyes set on teams like Miami, Houston, and San Antonio, the Timberwolves are still in the conversation. They’re exploring the possibility of bringing Durant on board, despite knowing he may not be interested.
Charania pointed out that the Timberwolves are taking their time to see if they can make a trade work that would still allow them to build a competitive roster.

The Kevin Durant trade saga is indeed heating up as teams prepare for the upcoming NBA draft. The Timberwolves linkup picked up pace once the San Antonio Spurs stepped back due to insufficient trade offers.
For the Timberwolves, acquiring Durant would bring an elite player to pair with Anthony Edwards. Durant’s experience and scoring could significantly elevate and bolster the Wolves’ offense, especially after they struggled with inconsistency in the playoffs.

On the other side, the Suns would benefit from this trade by addressing their center position with the acquisition of Gobert. They’ll also get young talent in DiVincenzo, Dillingham, and Shannon Jr.
These players could help Phoenix rebuild around star Devin Booker, and the No. 17 pick adds additional value to the deal. Ultimately, the decision lies with the Suns if they can make their terms make sense for Durant.
