Everyone seems to be talking about NBA star Ja Morant‘s recent trouble and giving their opinions.
After Morant’s second Instagram Live incident, where he brandished a gun, a much bigger suspension for the second offense is expected for Morant at the beginning of the season.
His actions have reportedly upset some agents around the league.
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, NBA agents are part of the people across the league unhappy with the 23-year-old actions.
“I’m curious what stance [the players association] might take, I’ve talked to agents of other superstar players and they’re pissed off too,” MacMahon said (h/t NBA on Reddit). “Because this is not just a bad look for Ja Morant. This is not just a bad look for the Memphis Grizzlies. This reflects poorly on the entire league.
“I’m talking to an agent of another superstar and he’s like ‘Man, this really taints the image of the whole league. I’ve got my clients who are doing everything right, who are never sniffing any kind of trouble. Positive members of their community. So on and so forth, but then the perception is going to be ‘Look at this fool who thinks playing with guns on Instagram Live is cool.”
On May 14, Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was indefinitely suspended by the team pending an NBA investigation. The video, which went viral on social on May 13, appeared to occur while Morant was cruising with longtime friend Davonte Pack. While Morant has apologized, the NBA is yet to announce a punishment for him.
In March, Morant was suspended for eight games after flashing a gun on Instagram Live while at a strip club in Denver.
Anyone following along knows these two IG Live incidents aren’t the NBA star’s first bout with trouble. He’s had a string of controversies in the recent past.
There was also an incident with the Indiana Pacers. During the alleged incident, a red laser was pointed at Pacers players from Morant’s SUV. The Pacers believed it was a gun being pointed at them.
Morant is headed down a dark path if he doesn’t get himself under control.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
