The excitement was electric for Los Angeles Clippers fans as their team prepared for a do-or-die Game 7 against the Denver Nuggets. After an intense series that gave Clippers supporters a taste of true home-court advantage at the brand-new Intuit Dome, the final showdown was set to take place away from home at Ball Arena in Denver.
But the Clippers faithful weren’t about to let geography stand in the way of their dreams. Over 100 passionate fans made their way to Denver, bringing their energy and hope with them.

However, thanks in large part to Clippers owner Steve Ballmer. Ballmer took it a step further this time. He personally funded the entire trip, covering flights and even providing a bus to ensure fans could show up and make their presence felt in hostile territory.
The traveling group arrived in Denver on Saturday morning, full of optimism and decked out in Clippers gear. They assembled behind one of the baskets at Ball Arena, cheering loudly and hoping to recreate the home energy that had helped fuel earlier victories in the series.
After all, Los Angeles hadn’t won a Game 7 since 2021 against the Dallas Mavericks, and expectations were high for a repeat.

Unfortunately, the on-court story didn’t align with the fans’ energy. The Clippers stumbled right out of the gate. Despite the vocal support from their traveling section, the Clippers rarely found their footing. The game ended in disappointment for L.A. with a 120- 101 loss.
The news of Steve Ballmer flying out fans quickly went viral on social media. NBA fans across the country wasted no time reacting, mostly with humor.
“Watch them leave early,” one fan joked.

Though Game 7 didn’t go the way the flying fans had hoped, it wasn’t due to a lack of effort from the fans. But in the unforgiving world of playoff basketball, even grand gestures can’t guarantee victory.
