The NBA has been under scrutiny this season due to a noticeable drop in television ratings. While a variety of factors have contributed to this decline, many fans have pointed to foul baiting. This concern came into sharp focus again during Game 6 of the heated first-round series between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.
On Friday, a slow-motion clip of Stephen Curry went viral, capturing a questionable moment. The footage showed Curry appearing to push Rockets forward Tari Eason before finishing at the rim. The play was not called a foul on the floor, but it quickly lit a firestorm online.

NBA fans didn’t hold back on social media. Fans used the Curry play as a prime example of what they believe is eroding the quality of the game and turning away viewers.
“A big reason why ratings are declining recently,” one fan wrote.
