Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recently won the MVP award after a lengthy speculation. But not all of the stats are in his favor.
The Oklahoma City Thunder saw a humiliating 143-101 defeat as the Minnesota Timberwolves bounced back in Game 3 after going 0-2.
It was a much-needed response, and the Timberwolves delivered it with flair, especially with Gilgeous-Alexander getting all the hype.
Unfortunately for SGA, it was a night to forget. Despite his impressive accolades, he struggled to find his rhythm, finishing with just 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting.

Fans started to voice their frustrations, posting memes and comments that had a good laugh at his expense.
The public humiliation came in the wake of his equally sluggish performance. Shai went for 2-12 FG with 4 TOV, not anywhere near the expectations of the Most Valuable Player.

Since the defeat, fans on social media have gone on a lengthy rant about his performance.

NBA Fans Rip Shai Gilgeous-Alexander For Disappearing In WCF Game 3
The Timberwolves’ defense was a big part of SGA’s struggles. They made it tough for him to find his shots while doing an excellent job of cutting off his driving lanes.
The Thunder as a whole never really got going, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and teammate Jalen Williams combining for a mere 7-of-22 shooting.
The NBA supporters on the internet did an online version of the ‘free throw merchant’ chant.

On the bright side for the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards dominated in Game 3, leading the team with 30 points. Julius Randle contributed a solid 24 points, and Terrence Shannon Jr. had 15 points in just over 13 minutes.
Interestingly, it was more than anyone on the Thunder’s roster could manage. Now, with their heads held high after such a decisive win, the Timberwolves will face the Thunder again on Monday in Minneapolis.
