After featuring in just 16 rotations last year, Phoenix Suns’ big man, Bol Bol was removed from the rotation. While this was one of the biggest shock for the fans, NBA insider pulled the curtains back on what exactly happened behind the scene. Chris Haynes provided some valuable insights related to Bol Bol getting benched. He also shed light on how the situation escalated from a March 12 heated exchange involving Steven Adams of Houston and Suns’ Mason Plumlee.
According to the reports, Bol Bol was present right in the vicinity of where the altercation took place. Surprisingly, while shooting layups in the background, Bol Bol refused to intervene into the matter.
“The Suns were playing the Rockets when Steven Adams and Mason Plumlee got into that little scuffle on the ground. Players start to run and pull other players off, (but) Bol was in the background shooting layups… He didn’t run to the incident,” Haynes stated.

Looking at this incident, Coach Mike Budenhozer was utterly irritated. He was angry as to why Bol Bol never ran to defend his own teammate. This resulted in a serious fallout, making Bol Bol ousted from the rotation after just 16 games! Meanwhile, following the poor state of affairs with the Suns, their owner, Mat Ishbia had some important news to share.

Stephen A. Smith lashed out at Mat Ishbia with significant disdain. And while the duo is in the middle of a feud at the moment, Ishbia has called for a drastic change in the Suns’ system. Speaking with the ‘Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo,’ Ishbia mentioned that the fans must expect some big changes.

“That’s why I had to go out there and talk to everyone (at the end-of-season press conference) and say I was wrong and we’re wrong and we owe everybody an apology and we will be better,” Ishbia stated.
Thus, with some drastic changes being hinted, it now remains to be seen how things pan out in the future for the Phoenix Suns.
