Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard has faced multiple injury issues throughout his professional career. During the 2017-18 NBA season, while he was playing for the San Antonio Spurs, Leonard missed the first 27 games due to a right quadriceps injury.
Although he eventually returned to the court for a few games, this injury prevented him from participating in the crucial Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors. In a recent interview on NBA TV, former NBA player Isiah Thomas posed an intriguing “What if?” scenario regarding Leonard’s injury during the 2017 Western Conference Finals against the Warriors.
“One of the greatest what ifs is: If Kawhi Leonard doesn’t get hurt in that Golden State series, San Antonio wins that series. If they don’t screw up with his medical rehab if Kawhi is still in San Antonio, would Golden State ever have happened?” Thomas said.

The Warriors emerged victorious in the Western Conference Finals, facing off against the Spurs. Thomas believed that the Spurs had a significant chance of winning the series had Leonard stayed healthy. His dynamic scoring ability and defensive prowess could have altered the flow of the games.
