The Cleveland Cavaliers displayed remarkable strength throughout the 2024-25 NBA season. Kicking off their regular season, they strutted onto the court with an impressive 15-game winning streak. This solid performance secured their place at the pinnacle of the conference standings, paving the way for a postseason journey.
In the opening round of the playoffs, the Cavaliers faced the eighth-seeded Miami Heat; they completely dominated, sweeping the Heat and advancing to challenge the Indiana Pacers in the next round. However, the Cavaliers faced a swift exit, being ousted in five games by Indiana, marking their second consecutive early playoff exit. Following this exit, buzz circulated that the Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic are involved in a blockbuster trade deal that could shake things up significantly.
“I think there’s a framework of a deal between the Cavs and the Magic that would involve Darius Garland and Jalen Suggs.” Via NBA reporter Chris Fedor.

Fedor mentioned Suggs as a possible trade target for the Cavaliers. If they choose to move on from Garland, Suggs could step in and make an impact.
Fedor Highlights How Suggs’ Qualities Can Strengthen the Cavaliers Compared to Garland

Darius Garland had a solid season, averaging 20.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.9 rebounds over 75 games. On the other hand, Jalen Suggs put up 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in just 35 games. Fedor argues that although Suggs might not possess the same innate talent as Garland, he contributes a variety of attributes that could greatly enhance the Cavaliers’ performance.

“I understand that Jalen Suggs is not as good of a player as Darius. I understand that Jalen Suggs is not as naturally gifted or talented as Darius, but he brings a lot of stuff that this team would benefit from. He can handle. He can distribute, he can guard his butt off, he can shoot from the perimeter, he can drive, and he gives you more size, more toughness, more tenacity,” Fedor wrote in his recent reports.
Cavaliers fans are buzzing with enthusiasm over Fedor’s trade suggestion.
