Kevin Durant, the superstar of the Phoenix Suns, has been the center of attention in the league due to the trade discussions surrounding him. After a lackluster season for the Suns, analysts have been proposing various trade scenarios for Durant, highlighting the significant impact he could have on any team lucky enough to acquire him. However, these speculations have come to an end following a recent report.
Shams Charania of ESPN recently reported that the Suns are trading Durant to the Houston Rockets. In return, the Suns will receive Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, and five second-round picks. Additionally, Evan Sidery has shared an unexpected update about the final team that the Houston Rockets faced in the Durant trade sweepstakes.
“The Heat were the finalist alongside the Rockets over the last 24 hours to land Kevin Durant, per @ShamsCharania. Miami was unable to beat out Houston’s offer on Sunday. Once again, Miami misses out on another star player on the trade market who preferred their franchise.” Sidery wrote in his recent post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Team sources said there are early indications Smith will likely return to the starting lineup, with Thompson — who originally replaced Smith last season after Smith broke his hand — slotting into Green’s vacated starting spot. The Rockets now possess ample length at four starting positions, amplifying the defensive tools Udoka now has at his disposal.” Via Sam Amick.
