The Utah Jazz ended their 2024-25 campaign with a disappointing 17-65 record. It was the worst in the entire league this season. Following the difficult stretch, the franchise appears willing to reevaluate their direction and is reportedly open to listening to trade offers that could lead to a significant roster shakeup.
Among the players drawing interest is Lauri Markkanen. Markkanen has surfaced in trade discussions as Utah remains receptive to proposals that could help accelerate their rebuild. Several teams are believed to be closely monitoring the situation.
According to Bovada, the Golden State Warriors are currently considered the frontrunners to acquire Markkanen with +205 odds should a deal be made. Other teams listed as strong contenders include the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, and San Antonio Spurs.

Markkanen had a tough 2024–25 season marred by injuries. The Finnish forward was limited to just 47 games due to a persistent lower back issue that hindered his mobility and effectiveness. Despite the setbacks, Markkanen averaged 19 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
