The New York Knicks ignited hopes of an epic comeback in Game 5. Unfortunately, despite enforcing a 6th game, the Knicks ultimately did perish from this year’s NBA. Playing against the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals, Karl-Anthony Towns and co. lost with the score reading 108-125. And while the hopes for this season are extinguished, the preparations for the next season are already underway. Reflecting on the same, head coach Tom Thibodeau hinted at some ‘big’ things coming up.
Soon after the game, Thibodeau addressed the media. The Knicks’ head coach mentioned how he wanted to take a step back and re-evaluate everything. Thibodeau also wanted to analyze and see what are the areas the team can work upon. And adding the trades and drafts into the mix, Thibodeau stated that the upcoming offseason will be a big one for the team.
“Like you would do after every season, you take a step back.. You decompress. You take a deep dive on the team, and then you analyze what you think you need to improve upon. We have the draft, and then, we have free agency, then, there are trades, and then, there is the internal development. Then, it’s the study and preparation for next season. So, it’s a big offseason for us,” Thibodeau stated.
