
The New York Knicks just got themselves yet another lifeline. Coming into Game 5 with a do-or-die situation, Karl-Anthony Towns and Co. made sure their NBA title hopes were still alive. Going up against the daunting Indiana Pacers, the Knicks have managed to squeeze out a 111-94 victory. This makes the conference finals all the more interesting. With a 3-2 lead now, the Pacers would be looking to close things out in Game 6 next.
Coming to the game, the crowd at Madison Square Garden was electric. With the game turning out to be a closely fought contest, the Knicks did well to keep their calm till the last buzzer. Once again, Karl-Anthony Towns came into action to take his team over the line. Dropping 24 points on the night, Anthony Towns backed it up with 13 rebounds and three assists.

But that was not the best performance from the Knicks. It came from their guard, Jalen Brunson. Showing significant improvement, Brunson chipped in with a whopping 32 points, five assists, and five rebounds to ensure the Knicks stay afloat in the NBA playoffs. However, while the Pacers did have an off day, it was not gloomy for them either.
Bennedict Mathurin Shines For Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers started things off on a great note. Winning the initial couple of games, they also registered a 3-1 lead coming into Game 5. Now, with the Knicks regaining their form, the Pacers need to regroup and come back stronger. Thankfully, they did have some of their players shining despite the hiccups.

One such name was Bennedict Mathurin. Playing on the night, Mathurin dropped 23 points in just 25 minutes of game time. He also backed it up with nine rebounds. Apart from him, Pascal Siakam too, chipped in with 15 points. Unfortunately, that was not enough to take the Pacers over the line, Thus, with the NBA final’s opponent for the Oklahoma City Thunder still undecided, it remains to be seen what happens next.
