The Denver Nuggets are now out of the conversation after losing the Conference Semifinals 4-3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. And Nikola Jokic knew where they lacked.
Jokic recently expressed doubt about the Nuggets’ chance for another NBA title with their current roster. According to him, the team’s short rotation limited their offensive effectiveness at times during the recent series.
And he now believes that they cannot win a championship as is.
“We didn’t, so obviously we can’t. If we could, we would win it. I don’t believe in those ifs stuff. We had opportunities. We didn’t win it, so I think we can’t,” Jokic said.

The Denver Nuggets are at a critical juncture as they look to make the most of Nikola Jokić’s prime years.
Their decision to part ways with head coach Mike Malone just three games before the season wrapped up has certainly turned heads. And while they still have the NBA’s best player in Jokic, they should utilize him until it’s too late.
While some may question the timing of such a move, the Nuggets are serious about making bold changes. They realize that simply tweaking the roster isn’t enough; they need to act decisively to ensure Jokic has the support he deserves to thrive.

However, this past postseason, Denver found out that even with one of the best players in the league, the Nuggets still need to find Jokic, an All-Star running mate.
The tough loss to the Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals was a wake-up call. Jamal Murray’s inconsistency and Michael Porter Jr.’s injury concerns are real worries that could hold the team back.
With the stakes this high, the next general manager will have to work some serious magic to improve the roster. It’s time to explore trades, consider smart signings in free agency, and find the right pieces to complement Jokic.
As the Nuggets head into the offseason, they face a few challenges. With no draft picks and some important free agents to think about, they need to prioritize their next steps carefully.
