Even before taking the court for Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Indiana Pacers made a bold statement by releasing their Game 7 championship cap. At the time, many fans saw it as premature, even cocky. But on Thursday night, the Pacers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-91 and officially pushed the series to a decisive Game 7. Obi Toppin led the Pacers in the win.
Despite their emphatic Game 6 win, the Pacers remain just one victory away from making franchise history with their first-ever NBA title. Toppin was asked on Saturday to name his favorite moment from the Pacers’ playoff run so far. However, his answer reflected the team’s unrelenting focus.
“It hasn’t happened yet,” Toppin said.

“We want to come in and get the job done for Indiana,” Toppin said.
Toppin’s presence on this Pacers roster has become one of the most valuable surprises of the season. Indiana acquired him from the New York Knicks, trading away only two second-round picks. Yet, Toppin has proven to be far more than a role player. Throughout the NBA Finals series against the Thunder, Toppin has averaged 12.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
