
The Oklahoma City Thunder finally reached the top on Sunday night, delivering a thumping 125-93 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 at the Paycom Center. After both teams fought to a 3-3 tie in the series, the deciding game was critical, and this time, the Thunder didn’t flinch. With the victory, the top-seeded Thunder clinched the Western Conference semifinals 4-3 and eliminated Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets from the playoffs.
The OKC team moves to the conference finals to face the Minnesota Timberwolves. The two teams will tip off the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for Oklahoma City with an outstanding performance. He scored 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. The Thunder’s star also added four assists, three rebounds, and three steals, all without committing a single turnover.
This marks SGA’s fifth playoff game with 35 or more points and zero turnovers, the fifth-most in NBA history. Only legends Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kevin Durant have more. He also joins Durant as the only Oklahoma City Thunder player to score 35+ points in a Game 7.

Apart from Shai, Jalen Williams contributed 24 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Chet Holmgren finished with 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Isaiah Hartenstein gave solid minutes off the bench, scoring 10 points with seven rebounds.

On Denver’s side, Nikola Jokic finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in 37 minutes but couldn’t lead his team to victory. Jamal Murray had a quiet night, scoring 13 points with only two assists.
Christian Braun posted 19 points and four rebounds, while Aaron Gordon led the rebounding effort for Denver with 11 boards but only managed eight points. Michael Porter Jr. struggled with just six points, and Russell Westbrook came off the bench with six points and five rebounds.
