We are just a few hours away from the 2025 NBA Draft night, and there’s one team that could change the composition for the rest.
According to Keith Smith of Sportrac, the Brooklyn Nets are currently holding a total of five first-round picks, which is the highest number any team has in this NBA Draft.
This interesting position comes after a recent three-team trade involving the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics. In this trade, the Nets acquired Terance Mann and the No. 22 overall pick without sacrificing any significant assets.
The picks they now hold are No. 8, No. 19 (from the Milwaukee Bucks via the New York Knicks), No. 22 (from the Hawks). Along with No. 26 and No. 27 (both from the Knicks and the Houston Rockets respectively), and a second-round pick at No. 36.
The Nets now have a ridiculous five picks in tomorrow's NBA Draft first round.

Prime team to watch for movement in the draft.
Additionally, this strategy allows the Nets considerable flexibility as they aim to rebuild after a lackluster performance last season. They finished this season with a lackluster 26-56 record and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
Despite having substantial draft capital, it remains uncertain whether the Nets will utilize all five first-round picks. If they use all of them, it would set an NBA record, as historically, no team has made more than four first-round selections in a single draft.

Ace Bailey Names Brooklyn Nets As One Of His Preferred Landing Spots For NBA Draft

While the Brooklyn Nets have an almost once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, they could possibly get a great prospect in Ace Bailey. As one of the hottest prospects in this year’s draft, Bailey has named the Nets as his preference among other teams.
He’s eyeing three specific teams, the Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Nets. Interestingly, the Utah Jazz didn’t make the cut on his wish list, and he’s even turned down workout invitations from them.
And the same goes for the Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets. Draft expert Jonathan Givony from DraftExpress believes we might also see Bailey go to the Wizards with the sixth overall pick.
