What a first day of NBA free agency it was.
Several big names signed monster contracts on Thursday. And the grand total that was spent across the league in just 24 hours has people on Twitter losing their minds.
Some of the numbers on these contracts are absolutely mind-blowing. Ja Morant signed a five-year extension with the Grizzlies that could be worth up to $231-million.
Devin Booker signed a four-year, $214-million supermax contract extension with the Suns.
And topping all of the contracts doled out on Thursday was Nikola Jokic’s record-breaking, five-year, $264-million supermax extension with the Nuggets, which is the richest deal in league history.
These were just three of the many deals that were made during a wild day one of free agency, which saw a grand total of over $1.5-billion spent by teams across the NBA.
And if that number wasn’t mind-boggling enough, how about the fact that it took just 90 minutes for the first $1-billion to be spent.
The money wasn’t the only thing flying on Thursday. So were the reactions on Twitter. Here’s what everyone had to say about the crazy, action-packed day one of NBA free agency.
