The Indiana Pacers delivered a powerful statement in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. They defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-91 and forced Game 7. During the game, cameras caught Pacers forward Pascal Siakam with a curious and intense expression during a team huddle.
Some fans joked that Siakam had sold his life for a title, dubbing him a “demon” for the seemingly possessed look. The viral moment quickly took off on social media. After the game, Siakam addressed the moment and clarified what had actually happened during the huddle.
“They said I was a demon? I wish I had a 30-point game or something so then I could’ve been like, ‘Yeah, the spirit took over.’ I tried to close my eyes. I’m thinking that I’m closing them, but I’m not closing them,” Siakam said.

“Sometimes, I have to remind myself… it used to happen a lot more, and I had to remind myself every time, ‘Close your eyes. Close your eyes,’” he added.
Despite the attention on his expression, Siakam also made key contributions in the game. He finished with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including 1-of-3 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. He also added 13 rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes of play.

With under a minute left in the first half, Tyrese Haliburton ignited the crowd by delivering a pinpoint pass to Pascal Siakam. Siakam followed it up with a thunderous dunk. The moment pushed the Pacers’ lead to 20 points. After the victory, Haliburton was asked about the play but admitted it hadn’t yet come up between him and Siakam.
“Honestly, me and Pascal have not spoken about this play yet. I don’t know if we will until this is over. But definitely a lot of fun. And if we are fortunate enough to go on and win this thing, I think that play will be remembered for a long time,” Haliburton said, per Sam Amick of The Athletic.
The series is now tied 3-3. Siakam & Co. are just one win away from clinching their first-ever NBA championship.
