The third-seeded Los Angeles Lakers had one of the biggest heartbreaks this season. Falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves early in the playoffs, the purple and gold fans cannot believe the reality. And while there have been many theories about how the Lakers can come up with a solid plan next season, one among them has particularly stood out. Paul Pierce has come up with some strong words that might leave the Lakers’ fans fuming.
In a recent appearance on FS1’s SPEAK, Pierce stated that the Los Angeles Lakers need to get out of the LeBron James zone. The former NBA star mentioned that if the Lakers have to come back and win a championship, then they will have to see off LeBron James. Instead, the Lakers need to go forward with Luka Doncic as their prime leader.
“If the Lakers want to get back to being a championship contender, you have to get out of the constraints of the [LeBron James] era… It’s time for the [Luka Doncic] era,” Pierce said.

Well, these comments come right after things went horribly wrong for the Lakers. While it was one of the most hyped pairings, the James-Doncic team-up failed to reap rich fruits for the Lakers. Meanwhile, despite all the comments, LeBron James recently got into the record books. Once again!

In a recent update, LeBron James could be found making his way into some more record books. Playing impressively at such an advanced age, James is now ranked third on the list of All-Time NBA leaders in playoff double-doubles (144).

Moreover, this season, James led the charts with 17 stocks, over names like Chet Holmgren, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby. And that’s not all. At this point, James boasts of having the lowest opponent FG% at the rim this year. With his percentage looking impressive at 36.4, James will look to continue his good work into the next season, too.
