One things for sure, Anthony Davis will not be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason or even the 2019-2020 season.
Why? Because the New Orleans Pelicans are completely opposed to sending him to the Lakers, which is his preferred destination.
That was before New Orleans hired David Griffin to run the front office, and it still remains the same right now.
Pelicans owner Gayle Benson fired New Orleans general manager Dell Demps, who appeared to have a strained relationship with Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, but her attitude towards the Lake Show seems to be the same as his.
We have been told, I think, through channels – most of us have heard this same scuttlebutt – that Gayle Benson has basically told him, “To the Lakers, over my dead body.”
Sheesh. Tell us how you really feel.
Right now, the Lakers can offer New Orleans a combination of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart as well as the #4 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. That pick alone could get two top notch players that would set the Pelicans up for years to come.
