Philadelphia rapper Gillie Da Kid spoke out on Podcast P with Paul George, sharing how frustrated many 76ers fans are. Sitting with George, who joined the Sixers in 2024, Gillie criticized Joel Embiid for being hurt too often and not playing well consistently. He said it might be time for the team to start over.
“I represent the real Philadelphia fan. And we’re f*ing frustrated, bro. Bro… you played damn near just as many games as you didn’t play. Rebuild all this sh**,” Gillie said.

He said this after Paul George pointed out how hard it’s been for the Sixers to win with Joel Embiid missing most of the season. Embiid, who won MVP in 2023, missed 97 games in the last three years.
Gillie Da Kid Demands Action As Sixers Struggle

Gillie called Embiid ”the best f***ing player on the planet,” but said his consistency is the real problem. “We don’t know what the f**k we gonna get every night,” he said.
“Embiid was capable of dropping 50 points and grabbing 20 rebounds one night, only to come out the next game and settle for 17-footers all day,” George stayed quiet while Gillie spoke with emotion about the team’s struggles in the playoffs.

Gillie also brought up Allen Iverson and Brian Dawkins, two Philly legends known more for their effort than awards. “We like to see effort. Allen Iverson didn’t win a championship. He will always be the GOAT around this motherf***er because he put in 100% effort. He left everything on the floor,” Gillie Added.
Even though Gillie criticized Embiid, he ensured Philly still loves him. But fans are running out of patience. The Sixers have not made it past the second round while Embiid has been on the team, and people keep asking questions about his health, fitness, and ability to play in the playoffs.
With Embiid dealing with a knee problem and George still adjusting to Philly, fans like Gillie are asking the team to act fast. Whether the Sixers try one more time or decide to rebuild, they need to make a move soon.
