The Boston Celtics’ pursuit of an NBA championship came to an abrupt end earlier than expected during the playoffs this season. With the disappointment of a premature exit, the offseason has become a time of uncertainty for many players on the roster. Outside of Jayson Tatum, nearly every key contributor has found their name circulating in trade rumors, including Jaylen Brown and Derrick White.
However, some relief washed over Celtics fans following a promising report from Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. Siegel revealed that, despite receiving significant trade offers, the Celtics are not expected to part ways with either Brown or White this summer.
“Boston Celtics have had massive offer for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. But they are unlikely to be traded,” Siegel wrote.

Prior to Siegel’s update, Shams Charania provided insight into Boston’s trade stance during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. The ESPN analyst explained that the Celtics would prefer to keep Brown and White intact. But according to Charania, they remain open to considering any substantial offers that come their way.
“The Celtics prefer not to trade them, from my understanding, but listen, if they get a big offer, they have to look at everything. And I think they’re going to get, you know, offers on the three guys that they’re focused on,” Charania said.

One year ago, the atmosphere in Boston was electric. The franchise had just captured its 18th NBA title, and the city erupted in celebration. That moment was immortalized with a championship parade, where players and fans united to win.
To commemorate the occasion, the Celtics’ official X account shared a nostalgic post. They captioned, “Nothing better than parade days in Boston.”

However, the 2024-25 season told a different story. Despite finishing the regular season strong and securing the second seed in the East, the Celtics’ playoff run was short-lived. Their hopes for back-to-back championships were quickly crushed as they suffered a disappointing exit in the first round.
