The 2024–25 season marked Brook Lopez’s seventh year with the Milwaukee Bucks. Lopez is now one of just four remaining players from Milwaukee’s 2021 NBA Championship team that brought the city its first title in 50 years. However, Lopez’s tenure with the Bucks may be nearing its end.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, there is a growing belief around the league that Lopez will be leaving Milwaukee this summer. Several teams are monitoring the situation, but the Los Angeles Lakers stand out among the rest.
“This time around, however, numerous rival teams are bracing for the center-craving Los Angeles Lakers to make a run at luring Lopez away from the Bucks,” the report read.

The Lakers have been in urgent need of a center since last season. Teams around the league are reportedly trying to take advantage of that desperation. Even if the Lakers choose to explore other options, Lopez is still widely expected to be on the move.
“Even if the Lakers plan to address their center void by pursuing Atlanta’s Clint Capela instead or perhaps a target not as frequently discussed, there is a growing belief Lopez will indeed be on the move next week after a highly successful seven-season stint alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo,” Fischer added.
