The Chicago Bulls reportedly weigh a sign-and-trade involving center Nikola Vucevic in a potential deal with the Golden State Warriors. According to the Athletic’s Anthony Slater, the Bulls discussed Vucevic’s $21.4 million contract and are open to moving him if the proper return comes.
Vucevic played some of his best basketball this season, averaging 20.3 points on 55.4 percent shooting and hitting 41.1 percent from deep, while grabbing over 10 rebounds per game. His ability to stretch the floor could offer the Warriors the offensive balance they have lacked at center in recent seasons.
ESPN’s Kevin Pelton suggested that the Bulls could target Jonathan Kuminga, envisioning the athletic forward in a role once filled by DeMar DeRozan. “The Bulls could try to put together a sign-and-trade, perhaps sending Nikola Vucevic to the Warriors and placing Kuminga in a role similar to the one DeMar DeRozan once played in the Windy City,” Pelton stated.

The Golden State Warriors’ recent departure in Scremento only emphasized the need for a capable big man to ease pressure on Stephen Curry. The team tested rookie Quinten Post in that role, but a proven veteran like Vucevic could make a bigger impact. As the trade deadline nears, the negotiations between the Bulls and the Warriors could continue if both teams believe the deal is suitable.
Golden State Warriors Likely To Keep Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency is a key issue for the Warriors this offseason, with limited sign-and-trade options due to NBA base year compensation rules and the first apron cap restrictions. If Kuminga receives a deal starting at $30 million, the Warriors could only count half that for trade purposes, reducing potential return value.

Even though Kuminga wants a bugger role and doesn’t entirely fit the warriors’ style, both sides might need to stick together. Coach Steve Karr suggested using him more with veterans like Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
Right now, holding on to Kuminga could be the most brilliant move for the Golden State Warriors.
