The Miami Heat reemerged as a serious contender in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes. As the NBA draft approaches, Miami is again pushing for the two-time Finals MVP. According to Jake Fisher of the Stein Line, the Heat remain in legitimate pursuit of Durant, who had previously listed Miami among his preferred destinations when he requested a trade from Brooklyn.
Miami’s renewed interest is no surprise. The franchise pursued Durant at the trade deadline and even included him in past conversations involving Jimmy Butler. While Phoenix is evaluating all options, the Heat’s mix of win-now players and future assets may now stand out. Fisher added that the Suns could find Miami’s offer to be the most enticing among all suitors.
That offer reportedly includes Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jovic, and/or Jamie Jaquez Jr., the No. 20 pick in this draft, and an additional first-rounder. If the Mavericks and Rockets continue to hesitate on sweetening their respective offers, Miami could quickly move to the front of the line.
The Heat’s offer for Kevin Durant could become the top option if the Texas teams are not willing to increase their proposals soon.

Durant’s known interest in South Beach, combined with Miami’s urgency to add star power after a frustrating playoff exit, gives this deal a real chance. With the clock ticking, all eyes are now on Phoenix’s next move.
