It is almost certain that Kevin Durant will not renew his contract with the Phoenix Suns this year. After a dismal performance, both the Suns and Durant are not keen on continuing the journey together. Now, then, with a lot of potential teams doing the rounds, it looks like KD himself is sure about something. Durant does know which team he will end up with despite no concrete trade deals having been made yet.
In a recent update from AZ Sports, it was reported that Durant has revealed to his inner circle that the San Antonio Spurs might be where he’s headed. At first glance, this does look a bit surprising. However, analyzing the Spurs’ recent zeal to get back up to the top, the probable acquisition of Durant does not look very far-fetched.

After all, the Spurs are clearly aiming for an NBA championship run next year. They have already acquired the services of De’Aaron Fox and have also secured the 2nd overall draft pick. Thus, the addition of Durant might just be the catalyst that could get the Spurs started. In an ideal situation, the Spurs could propose a package including Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, Harrison Barnes, and the No. 14 overall pick for Durant. However, the Spurs are not the only team having an eye for Kevin Durant.
Houston Rockets Rumored To Be Aiming For Kevin Durant

It looks like Kevin Durant is in some hot pursuit at the moment. With the Phoenix Suns reportedly reducing their initial demands, the Houston Rockets have emerged as a serious contender for the same. As per updates from Kelly Iko of ‘The Athletic,’ the Rockets are making an aggressive push for KD.
“Phoenix is aggressive in pursuit of a) trading Kevin Durant and b) regaining full control of their draft capital starting with the No. 10 pick in next month’s draft, team sources said. Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant, those sources said,” the report read.
