Kevin Durant has all the options in the world right now. He can either this way or the other; he’s not losing any of it.
After narrowing down to only selected teams on his radar, KD has now shut down the possibility of teaming up with a young Western Conference superstar.
Despite the Minnesota Timberwolves’ interest and rumors linking them to Durant, recent reports indicate that a trade is unlikely.
ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania has stated that Durant has “no desire” to play for the Timberwolves. And there goes the prospects of him teaming up with rising star Anthony Edwards.

Though Durant could have alleviated some scoring pressure off Edwards, there are concerns regarding how well they would complement each other. Noting that both players excel with the ball in their hands and prefer creating their own shots.

While Kevin Durant had made his thoughts on playing in Minnesota, the Suns are really hoping he might have a change of heart.
According to Sam Amick from The Athletic, the Suns are optimistic about this possibility, even though there are at least six teams currently in talks with them. Those teams include the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, and Los Angeles Clippers.
John Gambadoro from Arizona Sports mentioned that, while many teams are interested, Durant seems to prefer landing with either the Spurs or the Rockets.
Recently, he reported that the Miami Heat might struggle to put together a deal that satisfies the Suns.
The Suns are still holding out hope that Durant might come around to the idea of joining the Timberwolves. However, the Timberwolves are cautious about making any big moves to shake up their roster.
On the financial side, Durant has one year remaining on his hefty contract, worth $54.7 million, and he has the chance to sign a two-year extension this summer. Reports indicate that the Spurs, Rockets, and Heat are the only teams on Durant’s list for potential extensions.
