The Los Angeles Lakers is expected to be active in the trade market. Again. After their whirlwind trade decision that brought in Luka Doncic, many thought that the Lakers would be invincible. However, Doncic did form a menacing pair with LeBron James. But it was not enough to see the team go for a championship run. Thus, this time around, they will be expected to address two of their main concerns.
One of the biggest gaps in the Lakers’ roster last season was the center position. And after the departure of Anthony Davis, it only became more prominent. Another main area of concern was the absence of a proper forward. There were no notable players to assist Doncic and James in crucial and crunch situations.
Thus, according to Jovan Buha of ‘The Athletic,’ these two issues can be fixed with a three-way trade. In this proposal, the Lakers will be receiving Nic Claxton and Andrew Wiggins. However, in return, the purple and gold will have to sacrifice some of their promising stars.
The three-way trade:
- Lakers receive: Nic Claxton and Andrew Wiggins
- Heat receive: Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Lakers 2025 second-round pick, and Lakers 2028 pick swap
- Nets receive: Maxi Kleber, Jarred Vanderbilt, Dalton Knecht, Lakers 2031 first-round pick, Lakers 2030 pick swap
"Claxton and Wiggins are the best realistic players the Lakers could get for each of their two big holes."

Surely, the idea looks quite feasible. But will the Lakers’ front office be willing to do this? It remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the Lakers are trying to strengthen their squad, and a possibility of Lonzo Ball coming back has been teased.

Lonzo Ball Coming Back To Los Angeles Lakers?

Ball was a part of the Lakers’ side. However, concerns related to his load management made him part ways with the Lakers. However, in a recent rumor, Ball has been speculated to be joining the Lakers again. While injury is a serious concern with Ball, Anthony Buha proposed that the Lakers might be interested in getting him for 40-50 games. But in that case, the Lakers will look for a significant discount.
“I do, I think they would be. It’s just a matter of what his price is and you have to factor in his health and the history there… you can’t even pencil him in for 60 games. So whatever you’re giving up for him, there has to be some level of a discount or you’re factoring in this dude might just play 40 or 50 games,” said Buha.
