The likelihood that Durant will spend his final season with the Phoenix Suns grows as the team continues spiraling into catastrophe. As news spreads about his possible availability, a number of well-known NBA clubs are anticipated to become interested.
The issue in Phoenix has gotten worse due to the team’s continuous problems and his altercation with head coach Mike Budenholzer. Many think rebuilding around Devin Booker and starting over by dealing Durant is the only viable option. The only thing left to decide is whether the team will win the title twice.
Hoops Wire reported, “The San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat will pursue a Kevin Durant trade this offseason.”
Los Angeles, now ranked second in the West, can gain a great deal by acquiring Durant. Along with LeBron James and Luka Doncic, he may be the missing piece that completes the frontcourt by spreading the floor and adding another shooter. Durant may also choose to play for the Miami Heat. His passion for the team is well known, and his focus on basketball would fit in perfectly with the recognizable “Heat Culture.”
The 36-year-old Durant may get back together with former colleague Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks are anxious to win the championship at any cost after dealing with Luka Doncic at the last minute. As Victor Wembanyama elevates his game, the Spurs in San Antonio are rising. Next season, the youthful center is expected to recover from his blood clots.
Although they do not yet have that alpha-tier talent, the Rockets are unquestionably on a better path than the Spurs. They may get Durant and surround him with a group of young, versatile players.

The Timberwolves have made previous attempts to trade for Durant. But there are rumors that they may consider doing so again. This summer, Durant and Anthony Edwards played together in the Olympics, and their bond grew to the point that it may lead to their reunion.
The Wolves are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference (35–29) and are not in the running for a title, but that might change if they pursue Kevin Durant.
On ESPN’s Get Up, Brian Windhorst stated, “Another small market team to watch: the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ant Edwards and Kevin Durant have a very tight connection. Also from the Olympics. The Timberwolves tried to pull off a crazy trade at the deadline for KD. Look for them to revisit those talks this summer.”

Like many clubs, the Timberwolves may be able to fulfill their biggest goals if they get Kevin. Teams will likely need to make high bids to obtain the biggest summer prize. Although, Durant will fetch a premium price this offseason as the Suns try to recover assets.
