Concerns over Zion Williamson’s weight are being talked about yet again after a photo was taken of him at a recent Pelicans game.
Williamson is still out for the New Orleans Pelicans after undergoing surgery on his broken right foot and there is still no timetable for his return and his status has created a ton of concerns.
On a new episode of “The Lowe Post Podcast,” ESPN’s Tim McMahon said he has heard Williamson weighs 330 pounds.
That is absolutely insane if true.
On his official NBA.com player page, the former Duke star is listed at 6-foot-6, 284 pounds.
Last year, while listed at 284, Williamson averaged 27.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.2 minutes per game. He also hit 61.1 percent of his shots from the field. You can only imagine what the youngster could do if he got his weight dfown to around 260 or lower.
No one questioned Williamson’s ability coming out of high school and then Duke, but many made jokes that him going to New Orleans could be a problem with all the delicious food the area offers. It appears those jokes have come true.
