The Phoenix Suns’ ask for Kevin Durant has been an overstatement, to be honest.
With all due respect to his two NBA championships and 15 NBA All-Star appearances on the line, the franchise must rethink its ideal trade scenario.
Durant’s time with the Suns appears to be nearing its conclusion, as the franchise has received numerous trade calls this summer. While the team has fielded interest, the offers have largely been underwhelming.
The Minnesota Timberwolves emerged as a legitimate trade partner, proposing a package that included Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo, Rob Dillingham, and the No. 17 pick.
However, the deal fell through when Durant made it clear he would not play in Minnesota and reiterated his control over the situation by vetoing trades.
According to Forbes’ Evan Sidery, “the Suns ideally are looking to find a trade package for Kevin Durant that returns younger players and draft capital.”
Additionally, “Phoenix would also be open to two starting-caliber players alongside a first-round pick.”

Although, Durant’s preferred destinations include the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat. All appealing due to their favorable no-state-tax situations that would allow him to retain more of his substantial $54.7 million salary.
Yet, these teams have not presented competitive trade offers that would satisfy Phoenix. And with nothing working so far in favour, Suns general manager Brian Gregory might be feeling the hour.
Anthony Edwards Not Recruiting Kevin Durant To Timberwolves

The Suns are having a hard time as they attempt to trade Kevin Durant, primarily due to the lack of support from Anthony Edwards.
According to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears, Edwards is not actively recruiting Durant to join him in Minnesota. He’s instead choosing to focus on his current team and offseason workouts.
This situation presents a hurdle for the Suns, who are looking for a substantial return package for Durant.
Reports indicate that Durant has no interest in joining the Timberwolves, which only complicates negotiations. NBA insiders are noting that while Durant is Edwards’ “favorite player of all time.” However, his desire to team up is not translating into action to persuade Durant to change his mind.
