With Kevin Durant’s trade almost coming to fruition on any odd day, we’d love to see Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul follow suit.
The Phoenix Suns are on to a transformative next season after a disappointing 2024-25 performance. They ended up 11th in the Western Conference with a nightmare-ish record of 36-46.
Amidst this turmoil, insider Flex From Jersey has mentioned that both Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul are interested in joining the Suns.
“This is not me guessing, this is not me throwing something at the wall. Both CP3 and Westbrook are guys that could be on this team. Westbrook has been trying to go to Phoenix for 3 years,” Flex wrote in his tweet.

With the rumors picking up pace, this offseason would be so interesting for the Suns fans. While all of this build up holds little probability, but once Durant is off the equation, Phoenix would need a veteran.
Whether that could be in Paul or Westbrook or both, we’ll wait to see how this ages.

Do The Phoenix Suns Need Russell Westbrook And Chris Paul?

While so much is in the mix for the Suns, the development around Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul would be interesting.
Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game playing for the Denver Nuggets last season. He is expected to decline his $3.5 million player option this offseason to pursue free agency.
But the question is whether he will choose to sign with Phoenix, even though there are doubts about the Suns’ interest in him.
Chris Paul, on the other hand, played for the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 8.8 points and 7.4 assists per game. Although he had a solid season, he has expressed a desire to play closer to his family. A team, most preferably in Los Angeles.
Nevertheless, he has a history with the Suns, where he previously played from 2020-21 to 2022-23 and contributed to significant team success. Despite his age and a drop in production, he could serve as a valuable backup for Phoenix.
