There’s now some trade speculation surrounding two-time MVP Nikola Jokic following a shocking decision by the Denver Nuggets.
The Western Conference outfit fired head coach Mike Malone and general manager Calvin Booth on Tuesday, with just a week to go until the NBA Playoffs, and it isn’t as if they aren’t in fourth place in the standings.
As a result, rumors of a potential trade featuring the Serbian are swirling, suggesting he might look to leave at the end of the season because of how he might feel about the move.

Would Nikola Jokic Actually Leave The Nuggets?

Of course, actually getting Jokic would be much easier said than done. His deal with the Nuggets runs until the 2027/28 NBA season following the five-year $276 million supermax deal he signed in 2022.
His contract is the second-highest in the league and stood out as the most lucrative until Jaylen Brown signed one for $286 million before the 2023/24 season.
Still, if Jokic wants to leave, he’s probably going to. In recent times, NBA superstars have been able to force teams to trade them whenever they grow disenchanted.
Jimmy Butler’s move from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors serves as a fresher example.
So will Nikola Jokic be leaving Denver, or is he staying put?
