The Phoenix Suns and Kevin Durant are reportedly on the verge of parting ways, with a potential trade looming in the next few days.
What started like a rumor before the offseason is now winding down to a full-blown reality.
NBA insider Shams Charania recently discussed the trade timeline during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
According to Charania, some teams are motivated to finalize a deal sooner than initially expected. Possibly within the next few days, rather than the previously discussed week.
Currently, the primary suitors for Durant include the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

This shift in focus is surprising, especially regarding the Spurs, as there had been speculation of a secret deal in the works for Durant to join them.
Kevin Durant To Bag Big Number After A Great Season

While the top three suitors for Kevin Durant are already getting everybody excited, the Phoenix Suns superstar could bag big.
Durant’s recent performance was notable, with averages of 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists for the Suns during the 2024-25 season.
Additionally, he efficiently shot 52.7% from the field and 43.0% from beyond the arc. Despite his contributions, the Suns struggled overall, finishing with a 36-46 record.
So as long as he’s not getting the support around his game style, it’s better he build it somewhere else.
The potential trade scenarios involve significant considerations for the involved teams. For instance, the Rockets may be required to give up promising young talents like Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr.
Meanwhile, mock trades have been proposed that would pivot Durant to both the Timberwolves and the Heat.
