The Phoenix Suns already dealt with Kevin Durant by sending him to the Houston Rockets. The Phoenix Suns may now be preparing for another major move. According to a recent report, Bradley Beal is expected to either be traded or bought out by the team.
ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk reported on NBA Today that the Los Angeles Clippers would likely express interest in Beal if he becomes available via buyout.
“If Bradley Beal were to be bought out of his contract, perhaps the Clippers would be a player [for him]. The Clippers have always been advantageous about getting stars on the cheap. In the past, they’ve gotten point guards like John Wall, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook. They could be very advantageous if something like that unforeseen,” Youngmisuk said.

Beal’s current five-year, $251 million contract includes a rare no-trade clause. It makes it extremely difficult for Phoenix to move him without his consent.

“They were never on the front foot in Durant negotiations and got what they could from Houston. They addressed their center problems in a big way during the Draft, adding Khaman Maluach and trading for Mark Williams in the span of about 15 minutes, they still don’t really have a point guard, and will need to figure that out, whether that’s trying to bring back Tyus Jones after a difficult year or looking elsewhere,” Kalland wrote.
The Suns initially acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards in 2023. But now, they’re reportedly exploring every possible avenue to part ways with him. Before making a deal happen, the team must first convince Beal to accept a trade. But finding a team willing to take on his massive contract could be just as challenging.
