Kevin Durant will be on the roll very soon.
Coming this offseason, the Phoenix Suns superstar has been one of the most interesting trade discussions. And it only deepens after Phoenix’s surprising failure to make the playoffs.
Despite playing at a high level during his age-36 season, the Suns are reportedly looking to shed his salary to get under the luxury tax threshold.
Among the teams mentioned as possible landing spots for Durant, the Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as a potential sleeper.
According to John Gambadoro from 98.7 FM Phoenix, there is anticipated communication between the Suns and the Clippers regarding a trade.

The Clippers possess several intriguing assets, including players like Ivica Zubac, Kris Dunn, Norman Powell, and Derrick Jones. And this bunch might appeal to Phoenix if they’re aiming to remain competitive rather than undergo a full rebuild.

While the Clippers do not have access to their own first-round pick until 2030, they have valuable trade pieces that could benefit the Durant deal.
A potential pairing of Durant with superstars Kawhi Leonard and James Harden could create one of the most potent trios in the NBA.
Clippers Might Not Be The Only Team Eyeing Kevin Durant

While the Suns are actively exploring trade options for Kevin Durant, the Clippers are not the only suitor.
Durant has been at the center of the trade discussions, especially with the Houston Rockets emerging as a leading suitor.
The Suns had previously attempted to trade him at the February deadline but were unsuccessful.
ESPN’s Shams Charania revealed that there was mutual interest between the New York Knicks and Durant at the trade deadline.

However, the Knicks had made an offer that did not come to fruition.
This summer, the Knicks may also pursue other “landmark players,” including Giannis Antetokounmpo, which could place them back in the conversation for Durant.
In addition to Houston and New York, other teams like the Spurs and Timberwolves have been linked to Durant in the past.
