Since LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers, he has become the undeniable face of the franchise. Because of this, many fans believe LeBron has significant influence over the team’s internal decisions. These beliefs intensified when Anthony Davis was suddenly traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Many fans quickly speculated that LeBron must have known about the move in advance.
However, in a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, LeBron’s longtime agent, Rich Paul, addressed those assumptions head-on. Paul firmly rejected the narrative that LeBron is pulling strings behind the scenes.
“That’s false. I think that, and I can say that because I’m there. And when you think about that and that narrative, people don’t think about the impact that that has off the court, right?” Paul said.
LeBron’s agent then pointed out how this misinformation affects relationships within the league.
“It hurts friendships, guys that play on teams, because they feel like, ‘Hey, I may have been traded, and it’s because you wanted me out of here,’ right? And I know that it’s not to be true,” he added.
